It's not always easy to write a critique on "vision" aspect of a photo... often if we could tell we wouldn't photograph it. We do because (cheesy or not) a photo sometimes really tells more than a thousand words. Intentional or not, I am impressed by the selection of the fork's form. Very dramatic, conceptually very "covering"; it's shadow falling long and strong enhancing this graphic quality and adding more drama/soul to this photo. Might be scary-fork for some. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>

In my opinion this is a very original photo as we don't see a lot of silverware photographed with this much drama on a daily basis.

While technique isn't flawless, I admire the subtle balance of the negative space. This photo is like a "hook". You look and look some more which I think is a good thing for any type of visual art form. Personally I like photos that snaps out of the reality in one way or another and the deformed handle of the fork adds that taste as well.

While I am not so sure if I like the "lightened" area around it, over all a great picture, a well composed photograph. I like it a lot.
